The General Education program begins with the blueprint of required courses that make up the Arkansas State Minimum Core. These classes are required for any degree issued by a four-year institution within the state. Universities can customize this core by offering courses aligned with these objectives. Below you will find information on the ATU General Education program, a listing of courses that are offered within the program, and objectives and alignments for each course.

ATU GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM: *

English – 6 hours

Mathematics – 3 hours

Science – 8 hours with labs

U.S. History or Government – 3 hours

Social Sciences, Fine Arts/Humanities, Speech Communication – 15 hours

    • Option 1:
      • Social Sciences - 6 hours
      • Fine Arts and Humanities - 6 hours
      • Speech Communications - 3 hours
    • Option 2:
      • Social Sciences - 6 hours
      • Fine Arts and Humanities - 9 hours
    • Option 3:
      • Social Sciences - 9 hours
      • Fine Arts and Humanities - 6 hours
