IN-PERSON CAMPUS TOURS
We all play a role in reducing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. In accordance to ATU Pandemic Recovery Framework, all employees, students, and guests on campus are expected to practice social distancing and follow COVID-19 safety procedures to ensure the health of everyone. The ATU Admissions Office reserves the right to turn away any persons who do not adhere to ATU's COVID-19 policies and procedures.
All guests are required to wear face masks when visiting campus. Masks are mandatory to go inside our buildings, but not required to be worn in open outdoor spaces where six (6) feet of social distance can be maintained. Masks must be worn correctly, covering the mouth and nose. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you by the Admissions Office. If you elect to not wear a mask, you will be unable to join the campus tour group.
In order to practice social distancing, our maximum capacity for a campus tour is ten (10) people or less. At this time, we are limiting two (2) guests per student registered for the campus tour. While on the tour, guests are encouraged to maintain a distance of six (6) feet apart as much as possible.
Health Screening Questionnaire
In order to protect the health of the ATU community, all campus visitors are required to submit a Health Screening Questionnaire. This questionnaire is to be completed one day before your scheduled campus tour. If you have other persons accompanying you as guests on the tour, please complete the questionnaire on their behalf as well. One (1) questionnaire is to be submitted per party. Campus visitors who have not submitted a completed questionnaire will be asked to do so before they can join the campus tour.
How many people will be on the tour?
In order to practice social distancing, our maximum capacity for a campus tour is ten (10) persons.
Can I bring guests to accompany me on the tour?
Yes, each student registered for a regular in-person campus tour is permitted to bring up to two (2) guests. For private campus tours, the student is permitted to bring up to four (4) guests.
What is the check-in process?
Check-in will begin fifteen (15) minutes before your scheduled tour time. If you arrive early, please wait in your car in Visitor Parking. As you enter the Brown Building, the Admissions staff will greet you at the Check-in Station in the lobby and take your temperature. Please do not walk around outdoors to elevate your temperature prior to check-in, so that the Admissions staff can get an accurate reading. From there you will be guided to the Tour Room where you and your guest(s) will have a designated seating area spaced six (6) feet from any other guests on the tour.
Are face masks required?
Yes, all guests are required to wear face masks when visiting campus. Masks are mandatory to go inside the buildings on campus, and they are recommended to be worn in outdoor spaces as well, though face masks are not required outdoors where six (6) feet of social distance can be constantly maintained. Masks must be worn correctly, covering the mouth and nose. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you by the Admissions Office. If you elect to not wear a mask, you will be unable to join the campus tour group.
Is this a walking tour?
Yes, our campus tours are traditionally walking tours. For the comfort of our guests, frequent breaks during the tour and bottled water will be available. No golf cart tours will be offered at this time to ensure proper social distancing.
Can I schedule an appointment with an academic department or other office?
We are unable to schedule appointments with other departments at this time, but we are happy to answer any questions we can and provide you with the department’s contact information.
Will the tour route show residence halls?
Residence halls are closed to campus visitors at this time. The tour route will show the exteriors of a variety of residence halls. You may schedule a virtual housing tour and view 360 videos of residence hall rooms by visiting the ResLife website.
What do I do if I've been exposed to COVID-19?
If you or anyone in your household has been exposed or tested positive for the COVID-19 virus in the last fourteen (14) days, please seek official CDC guidance on self-isolation and do not come to the ATU campus.
Arkansas Tech University will continue to monitor the CDC and state government for guidance related to COVID-19. Please be aware that campus tours are subject to cancellation if COVID-19 reports in the region reach a concerning level as defined by the CDC. You will be notified by email and text if your tour date has been canceled because of COVID-19.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Admissions Office by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (479) 968-0343. Thank you!
