Enrollment Steps

Congrats! You've been admitted to ATU. Now what?

Well, it's time to take the next steps to ensure a smooth (and awesome) first semester,

Everything you need to get started at ATU is listed out below. We'll guide you through completing the FAFSA and cashing in on scholarships, to selecting your residence hall and scheduling your academic advising appointment.


First-Time Freshmen steps to Get Started

 

1. activate your onetech account

OneTech is where you will acccess several enrollment items throughout this process. Your Admissions Acceptance Packet will have your OneTech username and T# included. You'll need those to activate your account.

2. ACCEPT YOUR ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP

At ATU, your Admissions application also serves as your academic scholarship application. If you've been offered an ATU Academic Scholarship but haven't accepted it yet, be sure to use the link in the offer email or the QR code in the offer letter to accept on or before the deadline.

3. Apply for additional scholarships 
Visit our scholarships website to look over your funding options outside of university academic scholarships. You can browse private scholarships through the ATU Foundation, ROTC scholarships, scholarships from outside ATU, and other funding sources.

  • If you're an Arkansas resident, apply for scholarships offered through the Arkansas Department of Higher Education by July 1st of the summer following your senior year. (See Details)
  • Exlore other scholarship opportunities through the Office of Financial Aid (See Scholarships)
4. start checking your atu email account
Your ATU Email is where all formal communication from the university will be sent. Keep up with it regularly to stay up to date with all things ATU.
5. visit campus

Getting to know your college of choice is important. Through in-person or digital events and tours, we'll work with you to find your best fit at ATU.

6. Select housing and meal plan

If you are planning to live on campus, you'll need to apply for Housing. There are several housing steps to. make sure you're ready for the fall. Here are the steps you'll take:

  • Apply for housing and pay $25 application fee (Apply Now)
  • Sign your contract and make the prepayment Sign Your Contract
  • Review your housing and meal plan options to see what works best for you 
  • Once you're notified, select your room that you're interested in (Select Your Room)
  • Note: If you qualify to live off campus, you may submit a Housing Exemption (Submit a Housing Exemption)
7. begin the financial aid process 

We recommend you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is the single most important thing you can do to get money for college. 

The ATU school code is 001089.

8. book your advising appointment to choose your classes

Next, you'll want to make your Green & Gold Academic Advising appointment (available May through August) to register for classes. At the appointment, you will learn more about campus life and academics and make your Fall schedule.
*ACT/SAT/Accuplacer scores must be on file for your appointment.

9. Get Your Tech ID

Go ahead and submit your photo and request your ATU Student ID so it's ready for you by move-in day.

10. Reserve your post office box

If you're living on campus, reserve your Post Office Box to receive mail and deliveries to campus. 

11. Submit Final Documents

The summer after you graduate is the time to send us your final high school transcripts, ACT/SAT/Accuplacer Scores, AP scores, and transcripts for college concurrent credit. Your high school counselor or the college or university you received previous credit from can help you with this step.

12. Move In and Welcome Week

It's finally here - your first week at ATU. Orientation runs your entire first week, from Move In Day to the end of your first week of class. You'll learn everything you need to know to have a great first year at ATU. Meet new people, make new friends, and find new clubs and organizations to get involved with. Making friends has never been so easy.

 13. Start Classes

Move in? Check. Orientation? Check.

Now it's time for what you really came here for - to start working toward a degree that will empower you to rise to the occasion and meet every challenge head-on. 

Check out the Academic Calendar to see drop course dates (Don't sweat, everyone has to make schedule adjustments at some point), registration dates, exams schedules, and holidays. 

14. get involved on campus 

Exloring groups at ATU is one of the quickest ways to make friends when you start your first semester here. Find people who share your interests, attend campus events, and start having the college experience you've dreamed about.
