Emergency Management

The Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree programs in emergency management were the first programs of their kind when established at Arkansas Tech University. These programs are nationally accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Emergency Management and Homeland Security Education. The most recent accreditation visit occurred in 2020 and resulted in the continuing accreditation of these programs. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and the Master of Science in Nursing Administration and Emergency Management (NAEM) nursing programs at Arkansas Tech University located in Russellville, AR are accredited by the: Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)  (3390 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA  30326, Phone:  (404) 975-5000, Web site: The most recent accreditation decision by the ACEN Board of Commissioners for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and the Master of Science in Nursing Administration and Emergency Management (NAEM) nursing programs is Continuing Accreditation.  The BSN program is approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing (Address: University Tower Bldg., 1123 South University, Suite 800, Little Rock, AR 72204-1619, Phone: (501) 686-2700) and the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.

Strength and conditioning

The Strength and Conditioning Studies program is nationally recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Graduate Level Education Recognized Program. For more than 35 years, the NSCA has been the leader in building stronger professionals within the strength and conditioning industry. The NSCA created its Education Recognized Program distinction prior to the existence of any accreditation for strength and conditioning programs. The Strength and Conditioning Studies program at ATU earned this distinction shortly after it began in 2014 and has maintained it continually since that time.



College of Distinction

The Colleges of Distinction "was founded on the premise that there are hundreds of remarkable colleges across the United States, each with a unique strength to offer the next generation of college-bound students." The Colleges of Distinction reviews colleges each year to determine which ones should receive this designation. For several years in a row, Colleges of Distinction has awarded Arkansas Tech University this distinction. In addition, the College of Education and Health has also again been awarded this designation for specific colleges within the university. The College of Education and Health seeks to continuously improve its programs and recognizes the importance of its many shareholders in this process. Due to this pursuit, the College provides numerous opportunities to discuss its programs and to gather input from its shareholders (e.g., via surveys, shareholder meetings, advisory council meetings, Cohort meetings, university councils, specialized professional association pursuits, and through college, departmental and program meetings, etc.).
