The Certificate of Proficiency in Nursing Assistant is a course of study that prepares students for the certification examination required to work in the nursing assistant field. Healthcare facilities, particularly nursing homes, require more trained Certified Nurses Assistants to cope with the increases in patients served.

The course covers the fundamental principles, skills, and attitudes needed to give nursing care and prevent the spread of disease. Procedures used in the care of the sick and the ability to adapt them to various situations are discussed. Students will learn to document their observations and interventions.

Students living in states bordering Arkansas receive in-state tuition.

Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. The Arkansas Tech University school code to use on the FAFSA is 001089.
