Dr. Hamed Shojaei

HEAD, DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL AND EARTH SCIENCES, AND PROFESSOR OF PHYSICS

EDUCATION HISTORY

  • BS-Sharif Univ of Technology
  • MS-Sharif Univ of Technology
  • PHD-Indiana University-Bloomington

RESEARCH INTERESTS

The primary research interest for Dr. Shojaei is theoretical cosmology. Dark Energy is an unknown component of the cosmic inventory that drives the accelerated expansion of the universe at its current epoch. Since there is no established theoretical framework to describe dark energy, it is not clear if there is any interaction exists between dark energy and dark matter. Dr. Shojaei explores the possibility of the existence of such an interaction, the properties of these interacting models if they exist and how they can be used to solve some of the cosmological mysteries, such as "Cosmic Coincidence Problem". Dr. Shojaei's students study the interacting models' differential equations and solve them numerically.
