Graduate Assistant for Greek Life (Live-on Position)
Position Description:
Campus Life at Arkansas Tech University is seeking a self-motivated, student-focused individual interested in making a positive impact in the lives of our students. This 12-month appointment provides personal and professional development, an environment that challenges you for your best work, opportunities to gain experiences similar to that of a full-time staff member, and the cultivation of transferable skills in a fun and exciting work environment. The Department of Campus Life at Arkansas Tech consists of Campus Recreation, Greek Life, Orientation, Spirit Squads, Student Activities Board, and Registered Student Organizations
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Residence Hall Director for the College Panhellenic Residence Hall
- 85 bed residence hall
- 4 chapter wings
- 2 common use spaces
- Supervise 4 Chapter Resident Assistants
- Serve as the advisor for the College Panhellenic Council
- Serve as an advisor for Order of Omega
- Assist in advising the National Pan-Hellenic Council
- Responsible for community wide trainings encompassing risk management, social event policy, anti-hazing, and alcohol awareness
- Co-coordinate fall and spring semester programming efforts, such as Greek Week and Greek 101
- Coordinate council officer transition and chapter officer training
- Coordinate the registered student organization process for all councils
- Oversee chapter participation in the On Track (co-curricular experience) program
- Work on special projects, such as recognition, scholarship promotion, publications, outreach, and marketing
- Assist with the planning and implementation of IFC and CPC recruitments
- Serve as an educational resource to students and parents interested in Greek Life
Qualifications:
The minimal requirements for a candidate seeking this assistantship opportunity are:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Admittance into the Arkansas Tech University Graduate College as a Master’s degree seeking graduate student
- Ability to clear a background check
- Availability to begin work on July 1, 2018
Remuneration:
This position pays a stipend of $1,000 per month. In addition, 18 hours of graduate credit tuition per year is covered. A one-bedroom apartment with full kitchen, $500 per semester meal plan, $1,000 per year professional development funds are included.
