How to Apply FOR HOUSING

Requirements
  • In order to apply for housing, a student must have been admitted to the university. After admission, please wait two business days to apply for housing.
  • Students 21 years of age or older and ATU Ozark students must contact housing@atu.edu to be added to the housing system.

  1. Go to onetech.atu.edu
  2. Login with ATU username and password
  3. Click on Student Life
  4. Look under Housing and Dining
  5. Select Housing Portal

 

Housing Application Steps

Once inside the housing portal, follow the steps below.

STEP 1. HOUSING APPLICATION  

  • Review personal details
  • Indicate if you need special housing accommodations
  • Complete your profile
  • Form a roommate group (optional)
  • Complete room preferences
  • Fill out the LLC & Networks interest form
  • Pay $25 application fee (only for new residents) 
  • Academic Year 23-24: September 06, 2022
  • Spring 2024-Only: September 05, 2023
  • Academic Year 24-25: September 01, 2023
 

STEP 2. CONTRACT & ROOM PREPAYMENT 

  • Sign the housing contract using T#
  • Make $100 room prepayment to hold your space on campus. This prepayment will be refunded in February.
  • Apply to a Living Learning Community (LLC)
  • Review contract terms here.
  • Academic Year 23-24: December 01, 2022
  • Spring 2024-Only: September 05, 2023
  • Academic Year 24-25: December 01, 2023
 

Step 3. ROOM SELECTION/ASSIGNMENT

  • Spring-only students will be assigned a room.
  • For academic year (fall & spring) students, a schedule of room selection will be provided. The schedule will include same room renewal for returning students, selecting a room as a group or individuals, and automatic assignment. Schedule is now available below.
  • Academic Year 23-24: See schedule below
  • Spring 2024-Only: October 03, 2023. Room will be assigned based on preference & availability. Students will receive an email with room assignment and instructions to select meal plan.
  • Academic Year 24-25: February 2024 to returners, May 2024 for new students.
 

Step 4. MEAL PLAN SELECTION

  • Opens immediately after selecting a room.
  • Students not selecting a meal plan will be assigned Tech Platinum I per contract terms.
  • Meal plans can be changed through the housing portal until the 5th day of classes.
  • Academic Year 23-24: Immediately after selecting or being assigned a room.
  • Spring 2024-Only: Immediately after being assigned a room.
  • Academic Year 24-25: Immediately after selecting or being assigned a room.

I. ADA and Returning LLCs

Upperclassmen Deal

Brown and Turner

February 27 at 10am to March 01 at 8pm

  • Students with 45 hrs earned of college credit OR who have lived on campus 3+ semesters, AND sign the housing contract by 9am on February 22, 2024 will have priority selection and receive a timeslot to select a single room in Brown or Turner.

 ADA

Anywhere

February 27 at 10am to March 01 at 8pm

  • Students with ADA priority housing registration will be contacted by the Department of Residence Life via email to renew or select a new room. Please check your Tech email often.

Returning LLCs

Assigned Building

February 27 at 10am to March 01 at 8pm
  • Student returning to their LLC will be contacted to renew or select a room from the building assigned to their LLC. Applies to Engineering, Stack, and PRISM.
II. Returning Students
1. Same Room Renewal

March 05 at 10am to March 08 at 8pm

  • Timeslot: Not required. Just go to the application and renew room.
  • If the room is available, current residents will be able to reselect their current room for next academic year.
  • Students living in rooms not available for the following academic year will be notified via email.
  • Same room renewal will be open for a limited time.
  • Rooms not reselected during this time frame will be released for selection by others after same room selection is over.
2. Roommate GroupS

March 12 at 10am 
to March 15 at 8pm

  • Timeslot: Required. Issued based on application date. Emailed to ATU email address.
  • Groups must be formed and verified to qualify
  • All members of a group (2 to 4 people) will be emailed the same timeslot.
  • Groups must designate one person to place all members in a room.
  • After roommate group room selection Residence Life cannot guarantee students will be able to live in the same room. Plan accordingly.
3. All Returning Students

March 25  at 10am to March 29 at 8pm

  • Timeslot: Required. Issued based on application date. Emailed to ATU email address.
  • All returning students who applied for housing will receive a timeslot to select a room
4. Auto-Allocation

April 02 to
April 05

  • All returning students who applied for housing and signed a contract but have not selected a room will be automatically assigned a room.
  • Auto-allocation will be done based on availability and preferences.
5. Room Removal
May 10
  • Rooms assignments will be cancelled for any students not registered for classes.
  • These students may select a room again after registering for classes.
  • Original booking not guaranteed.
III. LLC Room Selection

 LLCs
(Engineering, Gaming, Honors, PRISM, and Leadership)

April 08 at 10am to April 12 at 8pm

  •  New students admitted to a Living Learning Community will select a room within their assigned building
IV. Transfer Students
Transfer Students  

April 16  at 10am to April 19 at 8pm

  • Requirements: Transfer students must be registered for classes or have a registration appointment by April 11.
  • Transfer students not registered for classes by April 11 and with no registration appointment will wait to select after May 06.
  • Timeslot: Required. Issued based on contract date. Emailed to ATU email address.
  • A timeslot is a date/time when students can start selecting a room.
V. Incoming Freshmen
1.Roommate group

April 30 at 10am to May 03 at 8pm

  • Timeslot: Required. Issued based on average contract date of members. Emailed to ATU email address.
  • Groups must be formed, have 2 or more people, and must be verified to qualify
  • All members of a group (2 to 4 people) will be emailed the same timeslot.
  • Groups must designate one person to place all members in a room.
  • After roommate group room selection Residence Life cannot guarantee students will be able to live in the same room. Plan accordingly.
2. All incoming freshmen  

April 30 at 10am to May 31 at 8pm

  • All incoming freshmen who are registered for classes/have an advising appointment and have signed a housing contract will be able to select a room.
  • Timeslot: Required. Issued based on contract date. Emailed to ATU email address.
  • A timeslot is a date/time when students can start selecting a room
VI. All Students Auto-Allocation
1. AUTO-ALLOCATION 

June 19- June 21

  • All students with a housing contract and who have not selected a room will be automatically assigned a room.
  • Auto-allocation will be done based on availability and preferences.
2. ROOM REMOVAL
July 1
  • Rooms assignments will be cancelled for any students not registered for classes. These students may select a room again after registering for classes.
