Physical Plant

The Physical Plant welcomes you to Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus. We are located at 1700 Helberg Lane in Ozark, Arkansas. The Ozark Campus Physical Plant's mission is to provide the following services:

  • Building Repairs
  • Physical Plant Projects
  • Custodial Services
  • Furniture and Equipment Moves
  • Landscape and Grounds
  • Motor Pool

Building Repairs

The Building Maintenance Department of Tech Physical Plant is responsible for electrical, carpenter, heating and air conditioning, plumbing and paint crews. These crews perform routine maintenance and repairs to all educational and general buildings.

To request building maintenance call Physical Plant office at (479) 508-3357. The following items are examples of building maintenance:

  • Lights out
  • Leaking faucets
  • Broken locks
  • Broken windows
  • Hot/Cold offices and classrooms
  • Slow drains

Physical Plant Projects

The Physical Plant can perform installation work when the maintenance schedule allows. This includes any moving of furniture or offices, requesting trash cans for an event, installing additional lighting, adding a window to a door, etc. Requests for such work can be submitted by filing a Project Request Form. Please remember when requesting a project, all emergency maintenance items will supersede the completion of a project request. Typical project requests that include installing new phone and network connections should be made through the office of Computer Service at (479)508-3339.

Custodial Service

Tech Custodial Services provides all cleaning service to all Educational and General Buildings. Services provided include trash pickup, floor maintenance, restroom cleaning and stocking, office cleaning, and window cleaning. Extensive care of floors that require stripping and waxing are scheduled during times when students are on break. The majority of custodial work is provided from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. in all buildings. Custodial work hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. with weekend services provided on an as needed basis. Student Services and Conference Center Building have night and weekend custodians to provide cleaning service for special events and activities. Please see tab form to obtain Facility Request form. Furniture and Equipment Moves

The grounds department is responsible for the moving needs of the various University departments. Requests for the delivery of catalogs and moving of furniture and equipment can be arranged by calling (479)508-3357. If items needing to be moved are on the Tech inventory, an Equipment Transfer/Disposal form must be completed and sent to the Associate Vice President for Administration and Finance, Bryan Hall. Upon receipt of this form, the Physical Plant will be notified to remove/relocate the equipment.

Landscape and Grounds

The Maintenance department is responsible for mowing and trimming laws, shrubs, trees and the general landscaping for Tech facilities. The maintenance crew also maintains the irrigations system and flower plantings.

During winter months, the maintenance crew is responsible for the removal of ice and snow on walkways and building entrances.

The collection of campus litter is done on a scheduled routine organized by, the office of physical plant.

Motor Pool

It is the responsibility of the Physical Plant to maintain, repair all motor vehicles. Passenger vehicles can be scheduled by initiating an electronic requisition and approval from the appropriate department head. Availability of passenger vehicles may be arranged with the Bookstore Manager at (479)508-3337. Charge will be made to the department using the vehicle based on the rate per mile proposed by the Vice President of Administration and Finance.

Credit Cards are available for use with state vehicles. Cards are to be used for the purchase of fuel, operating supplies, and vehicle maintenance. They cannot be used for private vehicle expenses, food, lodging, or any other personal expenses.

The Bookstore is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. If travel is scheduled other than this time, the designated driver will need to pick up keys and cards the preceding afternoon (before 4:00 p.m.) or the Friday prior to weekend trips. The requested vehicles will be parked in the storage house parking lot adjacent to campus.
