Arkansas Tech University invites submissions for consideration to be an adjunct instructor on a part-time, as-needed basis, within the academic departments and programs indicated below. Those eligible to serve as an adjunct instructor must hold a Master's degree in the discipline, or any Master's degree plus 18 graduate hours in the discipline or substantial experience in area where they will teach (see HLC guidelines, section B.2.), unless otherwise noted, such as for AAS degrees.
Preference will be given to candidates that can demonstrate excellent communication skills and evidence of excellence in teaching. Applicants should send a letter of application, curriculum vita, copies of transcripts, and the names and contact information of three references to the email address indicated for each department or program (provided below). Application materials will be retained by each department and considered as adjunct instructors are needed. Applicants can request their materials to be removed from consideration at any time.

Artists in Residence
The Artist-in-Residency (AIR) program at Arkansas Tech University is an immersive experience within an art and educational community. AIR is a program intended to advance the careers of practicing artists, present the residents as role models for the ATU community, and to strengthen the public’s awareness toward the significance of making art and its effect on the surrounding community. The residency will take place over a five month period, giving the artist time and space to focus on the creative process. The AIR program for 2024 will select an artist who works two or three-dimensionally to create an outdoor artwork that will enhance the ATU campus.
Music
Part-Time Adjunct Faculty/Elementary Music. The person selected for this position will teach one section of elementary music methods every fall semester. Additional teaching opportunities may be available based on candidate strengths and department needs. This position is part-time in the Department of Music within the College of Arts & Humanities. The anticipated start date for this position will be August 21, 2024. Ozark Campus adjunct faculty members will hold an academic, teaching, or industry-recognized credential appropriate to the discipline taught. For the Chemistry position, applicants must have at least 18 hours in graduate level Chemistry courses completed. Faculty members should possess a minimum of 3 years of occupational experience and/or appropriate industry credential and/or teaching experience.
