How to Apply for the UBMS Academy

Enrollment is open to students at Danville, Dardanelle, Two Rivers and Western Yell County High Schools. Students must have an interest in math and/or science and be willing to remain in school through high school graduation. Applicants must be willing to participate in UBMS Academy requirements and have the desire to go to college.

Students must meet income guidelines as set by the federal government and/or be a potential first-generation college student (neither parent possesses a four-year college degree). Once selected for the program, the student will participate each year until graduating high school.

To apply, each candidate must submit:
  • A UBMS Application
  • Recommendation from school counselor, math teacher, and science teacher (recommendation forms are attached to application)
  • A personal essay
  • Current high school transcript and End of Course Exam Scores

Applications are available at the beginning of each fall semester. If any spaces are available, UBMS Staff will select applicants by the end of October each year. If you would like more information about the Upward Bound Math and Science Academy, please contact our Office at (479) 964-0888.
