         Auditions at ATU
         
         Information
All students who intend to pursue a degree in music must audition with the department
            before being accepted into the program. This audition will serve both as your admissions
            audition and your audition for a Music Performance Scholarship. Students who are interested
            in majoring in music, including the Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Music Education, need to complete this audition. Scholarship awards for music majors are tiered based
            upon the quality of the audition.  
         
         
            
            2024-2025 In-person audition dates:

            Register for an audition by filling out this form.
            
            2024-2025 First Consideration Scholarship Audition Deadline:  March 10, 2025
            
            Video audition information:
Admission audition video recordings and links will be accepted beginning December
               1, 2024 and continue to be accepted until March 28, 2025. Students who audition after
               the March 28th first consideration deadline will be considered for scholarship awards
               based on the quality of the audition and availability of funds.
            
         
         To submit an audition video file or link, students must complete the following:

         Your audition can be submitted by either uploading an MP4 file OR pasting a link to
            a shared video (i.e. YouTube).  If you have any questions about your audition, please
            use the contact information for your major performance area listed below.
         
         Students will receive confirmation of their audition by e-mail.  Information about
            admission to the program will be sent out as audition videos are received.  Scholarship
            offers will be made after the audition deadline during the first week in April.

                     - Please prepare one snare etude and/or one keyboard etude or solo piece. You may be
                        asked to sight-read on both snare and keyboard and be asked to perform rudiments from
                        the All-State/Region list. ASBOA All- Region/All-State material is appropriate.
 
 
             
         
         
         
         
         
            
            
               
               - All students majoring in a discipline other than music are welcome to participate
                  in our bands or choirs. To join any of our ensembles, you should enroll in the following
                  course(s) during your academic advisement appointment.  Enroll in MUS 1501-001 if
                  you want to participate in marching band (audition not required).  Enroll in MUS 1681-001
                  if you want to join our non-auditioned choir, Concert Chorale.  Once you have signed
                  up for the course, the director of that ensemble will contact you over the summer
                  months with further information about pre-school rehearsals and the fall performance
                  schedule for that particular ensemble.
