University Scholarships

Freshmen Scholarships (Print the Application Form)

International Excellence Scholarship 

 An award of $4500 per semester for up to eight semesters or until the completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.

Requirements: Graduating senior with a minimum 3.25 cumulative high school GPA. Recipients are required to live on campus. Depending on the country of origin, this scholarship may be taxable.

Deadline: All freshman academic scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. A scholarship file must be complete and received in the IMSSO on or before March 31 for Fall semesters, or September 30 for Spring semesters. A completed scholarship application file includes an application for international undergraduate admission, an application for scholarship, current high school transcript with GPA, and two letters of recommendation.

 

International Baccalaureate Scholarship

An award of $2,550 per semester for up to eight semesters or until the completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.

ELI Graduating Scholars (Print the Application Form)

Maximum award of $2,550 per semester for up to eight semesters or until the completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.

Requirements: Current ELI student who has a minimum of 83 COMPASS composite and a 3.25 cumulative high school GPA. Recipients are required to live on campus. Depending on the country of origin, this scholarship may be taxable.

Deadline: All freshman academic scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. A scholarship file must be complete and received in the IMSSO on or before May 15 for Fall semesters, or December 15 for Spring semesters. A completed scholarship application file includes an application for scholarship, high school transcript with GPA, qualifying COMPASS scores.

 

Freshmen Scholarship Renewal Requirements (includes ELI Graduating Scholars)

Scholarship recipients must enroll in a minimum of 15 hours during the fall (spring) semester of the freshman year and complete a minimum of 12 hours with a 3.00 semester GPA to be eligible for the scholarship for the following semester. Recipients must enroll in a minimum of 15 hours for the spring (fall) semester and complete a total of 30 hours for the freshman year with a 3.00 semester GPA to be eligible for the scholarship for the sophomore year. Transfer, CLEP, AP, and IB credit cannot be used to qualify for scholarship renewal. Renewal for subsequent semesters requires a 3.25 semester GPA on a minimum of 15 hours. Receipt, continued receipt, or renewal of all academic scholarships is also contingent upon the student honoring the Arkansas Tech University Code of Conduct and adhering to local, state, and Federal law.

 

Transfer Scholarships

International Transfer Scholarship (Print the Application Form)

An award of $2550 per semester for up to two consecutive years or until the completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.

Requirements: Must have completed 12 or more transferable, for-credit hours at an accredited college or university with a minimum 3.25 GPA. Recipients are required to live on campus. Depending on the country of origin, this scholarship may be taxable.

Deadline: All transfer academic scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. A scholarship file must be complete and received in the IMSSO on or before March 31 for Fall semesters, or September 30 for Spring semesters. A completed scholarship application file includes an application for international undergraduate admission, an application for scholarship, current college or university transcript and two letters of recommendation.

 

Transfer Scholarship Renewal Requirements

A student must enroll in and complete 15 or more hours with a 3.25 semester GPA to be eligible for scholarship renewal. All transfer scholarships are renewable for two consecutive years or until the completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first, provided that the student maintains all scholarship requirements. Transfer, CLEP, AP, and IB credit cannot be used to qualify for scholarship renewal. Receipt, continued receipt, or renewal of all academic scholarships is also contingent upon the student honoring the Arkansas Tech University Code of Conduct and adhering to local, state, and Federal law.

 

Grace Semester

All scholarship students are eligible for a one-time Grace Semester. A grace semester is applied automatically through the Financial Aid Office. Students who qualify for a grace semester must be within .25 of the semester requirement while their cumulative GPA met the requirement. After a student's Grace Semester is used, failure to meet the renewal requirement in any semester will result in the forfeiture of the scholarship for all subsequent semesters.

 

Private (Foundation) Scholarship

All current Tech international students meeting eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply for Arkansas Tech Foundation Scholarships through the Foundation's page.

Rexann Oller International Students Scholarship

The Rexann Oller International Students Scholarship will be awarded each year to an international student who shows academic achievement in international affairs and/or strong background and interest in international relations. This scholarship is open to all Arkansas Tech International undergraduate and graduate students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need. Recipients of other tuition scholarships are not eligible to apply. Please contact the office of ATU International Student Services and the Dean of Graduate Studies or full application requirements.
