ATU | Mr. Tommy Memorial Student Loan Application
The Mr. Tommy Memorial Student Loan exists to provide small, short-term loans to Arkansas
Tech University students with educational-related emergency needs.
WHO CAN APPLY?
- Students with 6 or more hours during the semester.
- Students must be currently enrolled at the Russellville campus.
- Students who have completed at least one academic semester prior to the current semester.
- Students who can show a specific means of loan repayment (i.e., pending financial aid, student employment checks, scholarships) within the semester the loan is made.
- Students who are not negligent in repayment of a previous Mr. Tommy Memorial Student Loan.
- Students who are in good academic standing with Arkansas Tech University.
- Students who are in good financial standing with Arkansas Tech University.
WHAT ARE THE RESTRICTIONS?
- Loan applications will not be taken until the first day of the academic semester for
which the loan is to be received.
- Loans will be limited to $450 or less in most cases. The limit may be exceeded in
cases where financial aid or student employment checks are delayed and there is confirmation
from the issuing department that this money is forthcoming during the same semester.
- Only one Mr. Tommy Memorial Student Loan per semester per student will be awarded.
WHAT IS THE APPROPRIATE PROCEDURE TO APPLY FOR A LOAN?
- Complete the online application below and submit for review.
- Within 48 business hours, you should receive notification (by phone) if your application
has been approved.
- After notification of approval, you should contact the Student Accounts Office (479-968-0271)
to see if your loan check has arrived.
- Repayment must be made during the semester the loan is received or a disciplinary
and financial hold will be placed on your student records.
