The mission of the Business and Community Outreach department at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark
Campus is to provide relevant customized and open enrollment industry training as
well as community based educational and leadership initiatives. We seek to help Arkansas
Tech University meet its mission to empower members of the community to achieve their
goals and strive to better Arkansas, the region, and beyond through staying responsive
to current needs.

Open Enrollment Courses:
Green Bay Packaging Morrilton Training Site
ATU-Ozark has a one of a kind partnership with Green Bay Packaging in Morrilton, AR
to offer a full line of non-credit electrical and mechanical courses to your employees.
Over 60 companies send their workforce to be trained at the Morrilton Training Site
and registration is low cost and convenient.
**Courses meet one day a week for 5 weeks. Currently, registration is only open to
employers**

OnLine short term-Credentials | Micro-Credentials
Arkansas Tech Universiyt-Ozark Campus in partnership with Focus EduSolutions, is excited
to announce the launch of micro-credentials in Food Truck Entrepreneurship and Trucking
Operations. These two innovative micro-credentials were designed by industry experts
for those looking to start a new profession or further their career in either the
food truck or trucking industry. Both micro-credentials will teach the basice and
fundamentasl of how to be successful in either career path.
Food Truck Entrepreneurship
Food Truck Entrepreneurship offers start-to finish content on starting a food truck,
successfully operating a truck, and navigating the challenges that can arrise in the
industry. From your business plan to menu designing, marketing to financial planning,
inventory to hiring, and knowing your state's food truck regulations, this credential
provides the details and information you need to know to successfully get your food
truck up and running. Food Truck Entrepeneurship can also be very helpful to those
currently in the industry and operating a truck who are looking to improve their skills
and business success.
Trucking Operations
Trucking Operations is for the new-to trucking or entry-level trucking industry employee
looking for an overview of trucking company operations, roles within the industry,
and critical indusrty standards and regulations. This credential is also for the aspiring
transportation operations manager who is learning to manage all transportation or
hauling needs within a business. Trucking Operations covers how trucking and freight
operations work across the United States, the foundations for various types of freight,
trucking equipment, trucking loads, driver planning and driver hours of service, processes
for being able to plan and dispatch loads to drivers, customer service, and basic
understanding of accounting principles that are necessary for trucking management.

Certified Nursing Assistant Program (cna)
ATU-Ozark offers non-credit CNA courses through Adult Education at two locations.
*Scholarships can be available to cover the course fee but certain provisions may
apply.*

Medication Assistant Certified (MA-C) Program
Regional Long-Term Care facilities are eligible to register their existing CNA's if
they meet the criteria as set by the ASBN. Employers should register their employees
instead of employees self registering.

Machining/CNC Boot Camp
Each Summer, ATU-Ozark offers a machining/cnc boot camp to local employers needing
to upskill their employees with basic CNC skills. .
Costs are normally covered by the Gene Haas Scholarship when available.

Electrical Apprenticeship Program
(with a focus on industrial applications)
4 - year electrical apprenticeship program |576 hrs. classroom | 8,000 hrs. work experience.
*Classes meet August - May, one night a week for 4 hours.*
Upon successful completion, participants are eligible to sit for the State Journeyperson's
Electrical Exam
Ideal for those already working in maintenance with some electrical knowledge and
want to advance their career or gain their Journeyperson’s Electrical License.

Arkansas Tech University-Ozark is proud to be a partner in several Arkansas communities
through outreach and support. We strive to advance the mission of the institution

Leadership Franklin County
Leadership Franklin County is an organization housed at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus that develops
current and emerging leaders to work together to serve the good of Franklin County

The ten-month leadership development program is an experiential curriculum, during
which class participants:
- Explore the history and culture of Franklin County;

- Practice team building through work in small groups to achieve common goals.
