The University Honors Scholar designation offers a comprehensive four-year Honors experience for high-achieving incoming freshmen. Students complete 21 hours of Honors coursework and participate in milestone projects, and engage in leadership and research opportunities, all while developing leadership, community engagement, and research skills.

The Honors Scholar program is designed for current or transfer students seeking an enriched academic experience. Students complete 18 hours of Honors coursework, gaining opportunities for intellectual growth, collaboration, and leadership, while tailoring the program to their individual goals and schedule.

Honors requirements 

To remain in the University Honors Program, students must

  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25 each semester
  • Complete at least 15 credit hours per semester.
  • Adhere to the ATU Code of Conduct and all Honors Program policies.
  • Participate in required Honors events and activities each semester.

Meeting these expectations ensures continued eligibility for graduating with Honors. If a student fails to meet academic renewal requirements, they will be notified via official student email by the Honors Director.
