BIOGRAPHY

KaShema Washington has been a dedicated member of Arkansas Tech University's Division of Student Affairs since 2014, bringing over a decade of experience in both Testing and Disability Services. In her current role as Assistant Director, she provides leadership in both testing coordination and disability support, ensuring equitable access for all students. Her work reflects a lifelong commitment to access, equity, and student success.

 

KaShema's professional background is grounded in service and advocacy. In addition to her higher education experience, she completed field placements in adult probation, parole, and drug court settings, gaining insight into the complex challenges individuals face while navigating systems of support and accountability. These experiences continue to inform her empathetic, student-centered approach.

 

With a Bachelor of Arts in Rehabilitation Science from Arkansas Tech University, emphasizing Social Services and Corrections. KaShema is deeply passionate about helping others overcome barriers and achieve their goals. Whether working with students with disabilities, first-time test takers, or community members, she strives to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.
