Program Mission

The mission of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus is to prepare an individual to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant and deliver competent, legal, ethical physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist.

The program will provide professional education to qualified individuals without discrimination on the basis of color, sex, race, age, national origin, religion, genetic information, veteran status, or disability. The program will support continued learning and serve as a resource for physical therapy to graduates of the program, as well as, the community in general.

Program Philosophy

The Physical Therapist Assistant Program will strive to present each student with the educational opportunities necessary to become a contributor to the health care team. The program will provide a broad range of educational experiences that will enable graduates of the program to possess the knowledge and skills commensurate of an entry-level physical therapist assistant.

The curriculum will enable students to progress from initial exposure of material in the classroom and laboratory settings to integration of the material in the clinical education environment. The program will instill into graduates a commitment to excellence in the delivery of health care and a commitment to life-long learning.
