Dr. Rene Couture

BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Couture is the Director of the Masters in Higher Education and Student Affairs.
He has been with the HESA department since 2012 after having worked in various student
affairs roles at four other institutions. His research interests are centered on academic
advising issues, first-generation students, and exploring differences among colleges
and college students from varying geographical regions in the U.S. He holds a Ph.D.
in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership, an M.S. in Student Affairs Administration,
and a B.A. in Psychology. Dr. Couture enjoys traveling and exploring area hiking trails
with his family.
