
Region 6 Higher Education Collaborative
Mission. The mission of the Region 6 Higher Education Collaborative is to establish a regional community of educators, researchers and emergency managers, engaged in an ongoing dialogue to share information and foster collaboration among the emergency management field and colleges, universities, and Centers of Excellence in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Tribal Nations within those borders.
Purpose. To convene emergency management academics and practitioners with a focus on emergency management research, campus community preparedness and growing the next generation of emergency managers.

REQUEST FOR STUDENT POSTER PROPOSALS
7th Annual Region VI Higher Education Collaborative Summit

CALL FOR STUDENT POSTER SUBMISSIONS
The Region VI Higher Education Collaborative (HEC) invites undergraduate and graduate students to submit proposals for poster presentations at the 7th Annual Region VI Higher Education Collaborative Summit. This is a unique opportunity to share your research, service, or experiential learning projects with academics, professionals, and peers in the emergency management community.
Summit Focus Areas
Student poster submissions should address one or more of the following themes:
· Education as Empowerment
· Community Research for Resilience
· Training for Community Preparedness
· Faith & Culture in Preparedness
Poster Presentation Details
Poster sessions will provide students with the opportunity to:
· Showcase research, course projects, or community initiatives.
· Receive feedback from Summit attendees and professionals.
· Network and build connections in the emergency management and higher education fields.
Note: There is no financial compensation or travel reimbursement for poster presenters.
Submission Guidelines
All student poster proposals must include:
· Title
· Abstract (250 words max.): The abstract should concisely summarize your project, including objectives, methods, and outcomes. This will be included in the Summit program.
· Poster Keywords: Include 3-5 keywords describing your poster topic.
· Focus Area: Indicate which Summit theme your poster addresses.
· Short Biography (50 words): For the presenting student.
Poster Format
Accepted posters must be 36 x 48 inches (landscape or portrait). Poster presenters will be responsible for printing and transporting their poster to the Summit.
Important Dates
· Submission Deadline: January 15, 2026 (5:00pm CT)
· Notification of Acceptance: January 30, 2026

Email your completed poster proposal (as a single PDF or Word file) to cwalton2@uca.edu with the subject line: "Student Poster Proposal – [Your Name]" by 5:00 pm CT on January 15, 2026.
