While academic achievement leading to graduation is the reason for attending Arkansas Tech University, the experiences that students have outside the classroom prove to have a lifelong impact. Experiences offered through Campus Life enhance maturity, leadership, time management, friendship, career development, and civic engagement along with many other essential life skills.
Specifically, Campus Life consists of the following offices: Campus Recreation, Greek Life, Student Activities & Orientation, and Student Life.
Campus Recreation
The mission of Campus Recreations is to provide participation in a variety of sport,
fitness, and recreational events that help stimulate student learning and personal
development while enhancing the quality of life for Arkansas Tech University students.
Campus Recreation achieves this mission by providing opportunities for a diversified
population to recreate, exercise, and socialize through a variety of programs within
Intramural Sports, Fitness, Outdoor Recreation, and various Special Events.
Greek Life
Through an emphasis on academic excellence, active participation in community service
and philanthropic activities, ongoing leadership development, and positive interaction
between all fraternities and sororities, the Office of Greek Life helps promote fraternities
and sororities as an integral and productive part of the University community. The
Office of Greek Life is responsible for advising the governing councils of the registered
social Greek organizations (IFC, CPC, and NPHC) and Greek auxiliary groups such as
the Order of Omega Leadership Honor Society and the Greek Programming Board.
Student Activities
Fully engaging students in their college experience requires not only quality academic
experiences but also a diverse offering of activities and programs that meet the social
and personal needs of students. To meet these needs, Student Activities provides
various events throughout the year to include comedians, movies, carnivals, dances,
concerts, speakers, and many more.
Orientation
Our Orientation program is designed to provide an experience that helps incoming students
gain a full understanding of the campus culture. Offered to new incoming students
in the summer before their first fall semester and prior to the start of the spring semester,
Student Orientation points new Arkansas Tech students in the right direction.
Student Life
The Office of Student Life creates and fosters initiatives for Arkansas Tech students
to enrich their co-curricular experiences through leadership development, civic engagement,
and involvement opportunities. Students will enhance their personal, interpersonal,
and organizational development through involvement in Student Life initiatives and
programs. Areas include: Registered Student Organizations, L:EAD Academy, Spirit
Squads, Alternative Spring Break, Community Service & Civic Engagement, and various
other campus events.
