ESL Degree Grant Enrichment (EDGE) Opportunity

Arkansas Tech University is making a limited number of ESL Degree Grant Enrichment (EDGE) Opportunity grants available for students who want to start an M.A. In TESOL from Arkansas Tech University. Tech’s M.A. TESOL can be completed entirely online. 
Applicants for the EDGE Award will need to submit a formal application for admission to the Graduate College at www.atu.edu/gradcollege, select the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages program as the program of study, pay the Graduate College application fee, and enroll in at least six approved graduate hours for the semester the grant is awarded.

Award amount:

Terms of the Award:
 The award for students who reside in Arkansas, Texas, Oklahaoma, Missouri, Tennesee, Missisippi, or Lousiana will be $1,000 for one semester based on at least 6 hours of course enrollment. Students will be responsible for all student fees and/or books. The award for non-resident students living in other states or countries who are paying out-of-state tuition will be $1,000 for each semester in which they are enrolled in at least 6 hours.

Basic Criteria:
Students must have applied and been admitted to Arkansas Tech University's M.A. TESOL graduate program. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 graduate hours at the time of the award. The EDGE Award will post to the student’s Tech account. Students who have completed graduate courses as degree-seeking M.A. TESOL students at Arkansas Tech prior applying for the EDGE award or are receiving graduate assistantships will not be eligible.
Application Process: 
Interested students should contact Dr. Carl Brucker, Department Head for English and World Languages, cbrucker@atu.edu and submit a short statement indicating how the TESOL master’s degree will help them achieve their career goals.  There are a limited number of awards available and they will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis among qualified candidates.
