ESL Degree Grant Enrichment (EDGE) Opportunity

Arkansas Tech University is making a limited number of Degree Grant Enrichment (EDGE) Opportunity grants available for teachers who want to start an M.A. In TESOL from Arkansas Tech University. Tech’s M.A. TESOL can be completed entirely online. 
These awards will focus on graduate students who apply as degree-seeking students for the fall 2018 or spring 2019 semesters. Applicants for the EDGE Award will need to submit a formal application for admission to the Graduate College at www.atu.edu/gradcollege, select the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages program as the program of study, pay the Graduate College application fee, and enroll in at least six approved graduate hours for the semester the grant is awarded.

Terms of the Award:
The award will be $1,000 for one semester based on 6 hours of course enrollment. Students will be responsible for all student fees and/or books.

Basic Criteria:
Students must have applied and been admitted to Arkansas Tech University's M.A. TESOL graduate program. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 graduate hours at the time of the award. The EDGE Award will post to the student’s Tech account. Students who have taken graduate courses as degree-seeking M.A. TESOL students prior to summer 2019 or are receiving graduate assistantships will not be eligible for this award.
Application Process: 
Interested students should contact Dr. Carl Brucker, Department Head for English and World Languages, cbrucker@atu.edu and submit a short statement indicating how the TESOL master’s degree will help them achieve their career goals.  There are a limited number of awards available and they will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis among qualified candidates.
