Summer Housing

 

Summer housing offers you the opportunity to take advantage of campus resources, take summer classes, and save on commuting time at a pretty reasonable rate. The application for summer housing is available through the housing portal (click button below).

Due to adjustments to fall move-in because of COVID19, students needing to arrive to campus early prior to August 10, must apply for summer housing.

SUMMER 2020 Room Prepayment

A $50 room prepayment will be required to secure a spot on campus for summer. This prepayment will be refunded to the student's account later. Starting July 17, 2020 no room prepayment will be needed.

 

Summer 2020 Locations & Rates


All summer charges will be prorated according to the number of nights of the stay. University Commons housing will only be provided for students with a Fall 2020 booking for the University Commons. All other residents will be assigned to Jones Hall and then Paine once Jones is full.

*To preserve social distancing, Paine Hall will be used instead of Tucker Hall. Paine Hall is equipped with private bathrooms.

Summer II Update:

Students moving in for Summer II housing will be placed on the same room as their fall assignment. This is not applicable to fall residents of Vista Place and Wilson, who will be placed in Tucker.

 

Summer 2020 housing Dates


Summer 2020 housing will be offered from May 10 at noon to August 7 at noon (extended to August 10).
Students must apply for summer housing through the housing portal and select the dates needed. Housing charges will depend on the number of nights selected (# of nights X nightly rate per person).

In order to sanitize the halls properly, summer I move-in will take place between May 19-21 by appointment. An email will be sent out to applicants with more information.

 

SUMMER HOUSING Eligibility Requirements


University housing is available to students who are officially admitted to the university and who are enrolled.

  1. To be eligible to be a resident in a University residence hall or apartment during the May Summer Session (May 11 to May 29, 2020), a person must:

    1. Be enrolled in May Summer Session, or
    2. Be a current Spring 2020 resident.

  2. To be eligible to be a resident in a University residence hall or apartment during the June/July Summer Session (June 1 to July 1, 2020), a person must:

    1. Be enrolled in June/July Summer Session, or
    2. Be a current Spring 2020 resident.

  3. To be eligible to be a resident in a University residence hall or apartment during the July/August Summer Session (July 6 to August 5, 2020), a person must:

    1. Be enrolled in July/August Summer Session, or
    2. Be a current Spring 2020 resident, or
    3. Be a Fall 2020 resident

  4. Online Only students are eligible to live on campus.

  5. The University reserves the right not to contract with persons who are currently violating or have previously violated the terms and conditions of a housing contract or other University rules or regulations, or who have a past due balance with the University.

 

Summer Room Placement


The university will assign rooms to all applicants who signed a summer contract. University Commons housing will only be provided for students with a Fall 2020 booking for the University Commons. All other residents will be assigned to Jones Hall (single occupancy) and Paine once Jones is full.

Room assignments will be emailed the last week of April including instructions for move-in or to move from spring housing to summer housing.

 

Summer Contract and Cancellations

Residents are urged to submit a housing application only if they are certain they wish to reside in campus housing. If cancellation is requested, the resident will be required to make all of the following payments, including prorated rent, damage charges, and improper checkout charges (if applicable). The following plans will be offered for at least the first part of summer. Students who selected these plans can purchase more DCB through student acccounts if needed.
