Residence Hall Contract Cancellation

 

BEFORE you move into your residence hall

Submit a cancellation request by filling out the Contract Termination Request Form below. Requests submitted prior to the cancellation deadline will be eligible for a refund of their prepayment/deposit, assuming there are no outstanding fees or charges on the student’s account.

 

Cancellation Deadlines:

 

Fall Residents who officially withdrawal from the University: 

  1. Residents who cancel on or after June 1 will forfeit half (50%) of their prepayment, $50.
  2. Residents who cancel on or after July 1 will forfeit their entire prepayment.

Eligible Fall Residents: 

  1. Residents who cancel on or after June 1 will forfeit their entire prepayment, $100.
  2. Residents who cancel on or after July 1 will forfeit their entire prepayment, $100, and receive a $250 cancellation fee.
  3. Residents who cancel their contract on or after August 1 will forfeit their entire prepayment, $100, and receive a $500 cancellation fee.
  4. Residents who cancel their contract on or after August 19, 2020 will be held responsible for the remainder of the housing charges. 

Eligible Spring Only Residents: 

  1. Residents who cancel on or after December 1, 2020 will forfeit half (50%) of their prepayment, $50.
  2. Residents who cancel on or after January 1, 2021 will forfeit their entire prepayment, $100.
  3. Residents who cancel their contract on or after January 11, 2021 will be held responsible for the remainder of the housing charges.

Effective Spring 2020, the apartments will only require a $100 prepayment.

 

AFTER you have moved into your residence hall

After a student has checked-in and received a key or after the meal plan associated with the contract has been used, this contract may only be cancelled by the student for the following reasons: graduation, student teaching or academic internship, marriage, or military leave. 

The contract termination request form is now available in a digital format through the housing portal. Click below to access it. Students must log into the housing portal with their OneTech user name and password.

Notification of Decision

Decisions for cancellation and termination requests are sent to the student’s ATU email account. Average review time is 2-4 weeks, but varies depending upon the nature of the request.
