Community Assistants have a unique leadership role connecting with residents in Living Learning Communities. They also have the opportunity to connect with Living Learning Community faculty and staff liaisons from all areas on campus. They facilitate programs, foster academic conversations, and provide individualized peer mentorship to their specific community of students living in the residence halls.

Housing Ambassadors work as representatives of the Department of Residence Life to all current and prospective students, parents, staff, and administrators. They live and maintain the showrooms, guide housing tours, and assist with recruitment events. Their duties also include front desk services at the main office and a variety of administrative tasks.

Operation assistants help with operational oversight of their assigned area by making sure desks are being maintained, resources are available and ready to serve students. They assist with facility concerns and issues during regular operating hours and after hours. In addition, Operations Assistants maintain residence hall keys for their specific area on a regular basis and the Residence Life key office as required in conjunction with the Residence Director of Building Operations and the Coordinator of Student and Guest Operations.

Resident Assistants are student leaders. Their duties include planning and hosting educational and social events in the halls; engaging in intentional conversations about each resident's academic and holistic development; and supporting and enforcing the policies and procedures as outlined in the Student Handbook.

Resident Directors at Arkansas Tech play an integral role in the functioning of the department and have a unique opportunity to directly supervise the normal operation and staff of a residence hall or apartment community on campus. For more information and to apply for this position, visit
