How to Apply FOR HOUSING for Academic Year 2021-2022

  1. Go to onetech.atu.edu
  2. Login with ATU username and password
  3. Click on Student Life
  4. Look under Housing and Dining
  5. Select Housing Portal
Housing Application Steps

Once inside the housing portal, follow the steps below. 

 
STEP 1. HOUSING APPLICATION AND LIVING LEARNING COMMUNITY (LLC) APPLICATION - OPENS September 1ST, 2020 
  • Review personal details
  • Apply to LLC (optional)
  • Indicate if you need special housing accommodations
  • Complete your profile
  • Form a roommate group (optional) [Video]
  • Complete room preferences
  • Pay $25 application fee (only for new residents) 

 

STEP 2. CONTRACT & Room Prepayment- OPENS NOVEMBER 1ST, 2020 FOR ALL STUDENTS
  • Sign the housing contract using T#
  • Make $100 room prepayment to hold your space on campus. This prepayment will be refunded in the spring.

 

 
STEP 3. ROOM SELECTION- Schedule coming soon!
  • A timeslot will be sent to the resident's ATU address to start room selection.  A timeslot is a date & time when room selection opens for a particular resident. Timeslots typically are assigned based on several factors such as contract signed date, room prepayment date, and TechAdvise session date. Timeslots do not expire until a room is selected or assigned.

HOW TO APPLY FOR HOUSING FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2020- 2021 (Spring 21 Only)

 
This housing application is only for students admitted to the Spring 2021 term.

HOUSING APPLICATION STEPS

Once inside the housing portal, follow the steps below. 

 
STEP 1. Initial HOUSING APPLICATION - OPENS October 1ST, 2020 
  • Review personal details
  • Indicate if you need special housing accommodations
  • Complete your profile
  • Form a roommate group (optional) [Video]
  • Complete room preferences
  • Pay $25 application fee (only for new residents) 

 

STEP 2. CONTRACT, Public Health-Informed Policies Addendum, and ROOM PREPAYMENT- OPENS october 1ST, 2020
  • Sign the housing contract using T# (student ID)
  • Sign the Publich Health- Informed Policies Addendum using T# (student ID)
  • Make $100 room prepayment to hold your space on campus. This prepayment will be refunded later.

 

 
STEP 3. ROOM Assignment- 1st Week of November 2020
  • Residence Life will assign rooms to all students who signed a housing contract depending on preferences and availability. Students will receive notification of the assignment via email. This information will also be found by logging back into the housing portal.

Please note that due to economic impact of COVID19, Residence Life has postponed the deadline to make the $100 room prepayment to August 1st, 2020 at 10pm. Students who sign a contract will receive a timeslot and proceed to room and meal selection.

STEP 3. ROOM SELECTION
  • A timeslot will be sent to the resident's ATU address to start room selection.  A timeslot is a date & time when room selection opens for a particular resident. Timeslots typically are assigned based on room prepayment date and do not expire until a room is selected or assigned. Find out the room selection schedule below.

     

    CURRENT RESIDENTS - CALLING DIBS

     *ADA: Students with ADA priority housing registration will be contacted by the Department of Residence Life via email before February 24 to renew or select a new room. Please check your Tech email often.

 

 

FIRST DIBS

Same Room

February 24 at 10am 

to February 26 at 10pm

  • Current residents will be able to select their current room again for Fall 2020 unless they have been displaced.
  • No timeslots are needed for same room selection. Same room renewal will be open for a limited time to all who have not been displaced.
  • Rooms not reselected during this time frame will be released for selection by others after same room selection is over.
SECOND DIBS

Roommate Group

  • All members of a group (2 or more people) will be emailed the same timeslot.
  • Groups must select one person to place all members in a room.
  • Displaced students in a roommate group will be able to start selecting during this time frame as well.
THIRD DIBS

  • Displaced residents are those residing in M Street, study rooms, RA rooms, or any other room/building being reconfigured.
  • Residence Life will contact residents in this category to let them know they have been displaced.
FOURTH DIBS

  • All current residents will be able to select from any room on campus for which they qualify.
  • Timeslot required and issued to student's ATU email address.
LAST DIBS

  • Residence Life will assign a room to any current resident who has signed a housing contract and not selected a room yet. Room prepayment deadline has been extended to August 1st.

 

 

LIVING LEARNING COMMUNITY PARTICIPANTS

 

ALL LLCS

New and Returning Students

April 6 at 10am to April 12 at 10pm (new date)

  • Residents admitted to a Living Learning Community will be able to select from a room from the building assigned to their LLC.
  • Timeslots will be needed and issued to the resident's ATU email

 

  

NEW RESIDENTS - INCOMING FRESHMEN & TRANSFER STUDENTS

 

PARTICIPANTS OF TECH ADVISE SESSIONS 

Sessions Between 
March 17-April 13

Start April 21 at 10am

  • TechAdvise Participants will be able to select a room from any building for which they qualify
  • Timeslots will be needed and issued to the resident's ATU email
  • Timeslots will be issued based on date of participation in TechAdvise and the contract signed date
PARTICIPANTS OF TECH ADVISE SESSIONS 

Sessions Between 
April 15-June 05

Start May 12 at 10am

  •  TechAdvise Participants will be able to select a room from any building for which they qualify
  • Timeslots will be needed and issued to the resident's ATU email
  • Timeslots will be issued based on date of participation in TechAdvise and the contract signed date
ALL STUDENTS

Incoming freshmen & Transfer

Start May 25 at 10am

  •  Incoming freshmen and transfer students will be able to select a room from any building for which they qualify
  • Timeslots will be needed and issued to the resident's ATU email
  • Timeslots will be issued based on the date of contract signed
AUTO-ALLOCATION

All students

Start August 3rd at 10am

  • All students who signed a contract and made room prepayment but have not selected a room yet will be assigned a room by Residence Life.
  • Students not enrolled in classes before August 1st will have their booking cancelled per contract terms.


 * STUDENTS MUST BE ENROLLED IN CLASSES BY AUGUST 1ST TO KEEP THEIR BOOKING. STUDENTS NOT ENROLLED IN CLASSES BY AUGUST 1ST WILL HAVE THEIR BOOKING CANCELLED.

 

STEP 4. MEAL PLAN SELECTION
  • Opens immediately after selecting a room. Students not selecting a meal plan will be assigned Tech Platinum I per contract terms. Meal plans can be changed through the housing portal until the 5th day of classes.

 

STEP 5. ROOM PREPAYMENT
  • After selecting a room and meal plan, students must make $100 room prepayment. This step will complete the housing application process. Deadline is August 1st at 10pm.
