Inclement Weather

The information below applies only in the case of inclement weather.

If the Inclement Weather Plan is implemented for ceremonies scheduled at Thone Stadium – Buerkle Field, ceremonies will be moved to Tucker Coliseum.

  • A decision and announcement to move to the coliseum will be made at least 5 hours prior to the ceremony in the event of inclement weather.

  • Notification of the implementation of the inclement weather plan will be announced through Tech Alert, OneTech announcements, and social media.  

    Sign up for Tech Alert: Anyone who texts ATUAlert (no spaces) to 67283 will be opted in to receiving ATU Alerts for the month of May 2021. This will automatically expire at the end of the month. When someone texts, they will receive a message reply notifying them that they have been enrolled and that it is for the month of May.

  • Students will be allowed 4-6 guests. No tickets are needed.

  • There will be no seating in the coliseum.

  • Students and their family members will enter together at the south entrance of Tucker Coliseum and stay together as they progress through the line in the coliseum for the student to receive their diploma cover and take a picture.

  • Students will have their name announced and their picture taken receiving their diploma cover. 

  • Wait time could be an hour or longer to have name called and picture taken.

  •  The event will be live streamed.

  • Graduates and guests will exit the coliseum using the north entrance.
