Pursuing Funding Agencies or Foundations
When pursuing a private foundation in which to submit a funding opportunity, the faculty or staff member must consult with the Office of Sponsored Programs and University Initiatives (OSPUI) prior to preparing the proposal. OSPUI will contact the Advancement Office in order to determine if the university is already pursuing the foundation for a larger initiative. If the university is already pursuing the agency, the faculty or staff member will need to approach an alternative source for funding.
In the event two or more faculty or staff members are pursuing the same funding agency for an identical solicitation, OSPUI will determine if the agency allows more than one submission from an institution. In the scenario the funding agency only accepts one application, the Vice President for Academic Affairs or the Associate Vice President for Sponsored Programs and University Initiatives will determine which proposal to submit for funding.
