My research is theoretically informed by the intersection of evolutionary psychology, embodiment, and social cognition. My laboratory and online investigations use rigorous cross-disciplinary experimental methods to test predictions about individuals' social motivations and relationship strategies.

My research interest seeks to develop safe and effective vaccine adjuvant to induce mucosal immune response and its application in oral vaccines. My other research interest is inclined to understand mast cell-eosinophil interaction in inducing allergic reactions. Mast cell is well-known for inflammatory and allergic reactions. However, it also leads immune suppression. It is still unclear what conditions make a mast cell immune activator or immune suppressor.  Eosinophil is one of the important cells which modulates mast cell activity, therefore comprehensive study of mast cell-eosinophil interaction could offer a promising solution to treat or control allergic reactions

Currently, my lab works on investigations into the energy conservation and metabolic pathways of sulfur oxidizing microbes from marine environments. We use a combination of biotechnology techniques to dissect the role of individual biomolecules in discrete portions of the overall metabolism of the cells. The techniques range from the cloning, expression and characterization of individual proteins/enzymes to 'knockouts' to eliminate individuals steps in pathways.
