Freshmen-Enrolling Spring

Welcome to Arkansas Tech Family!  We are excited that you'll be joining us soon and want to make your transition as smooth as possible.  Orientation for students enrolling in the spring term is a three-step process, including advising and class registration, an online pre-orientation and an on-campus orientation session right before classes begin. The information on this page will help you navigate through this process, but if you have any questions along the way, we'll be here to help!

Students with less than 60 credit hours

Students with less than 60 credit hours will contact the Academic Adivsing Center and make an appointment to meet with an academic advisor. During your advising appointment you and your academic advisor will discuss your future career plans, reivew your transcripts and discuss any academic concerns you may have before scheduling your first semester classes.

You can make your appointment by calling the Academic Advising Center at (479) 964-0843 or emailing adviseme@atu.edu with your full name and T-number. All appointments with the Academic Advising Center are virtual until further notice.

Students with more than 60 credit hours

Students coming in with 60 or more credit hours will be advised by a faculty advisor in their academic department. During your advising appointment your faculty advisor will discuss with you how your previous credit will be applied to your degree plan.

You can make an appointment with your faculty advisor by contacting the main office of your academic department or visiting their website.

Once you have enrolled in classes for the spring term you will be eligible to complete the online pre-orientation. You will receive an email, at your ATU email address, with directions on how to access the online pre-orientation through "The Link".  The online pre-orientation will cover a variety of topics including, campus resources, academic expectations, involvement opportunities and the student handbook.

The pre-orientation should be completed before your virtual orientation session on Friday, January 8, 2021.

As an ATU student, you have a free WebEx account, to use for classes and university activities. You will be added to a Spring 2021 Orientation group through your Webex account. You can use this group to connect with other incoming students and ask questions of your orientation leader.

Virtual Q&A Sessions will be held every Monday and Thursday begining Nov 16, 2020.  Check your ATU email address for information on how to download the WebEx platform and when you'll be able to connect with your Spring 2021 Orientation Leader.

The mandatory virtual orientation is your first opportunity to get connected with Tech students, faculty and staff, learn about exciting campus opportunities and most importantly begin to make Arkansas Tech your home away from home!   Once you enroll in classes, the orientation will be added to your class schedule (1ATU-1000) and the $100 orientation fee will automatically be added to your student account. Keep checking your ATU email, as you'll receive more information about the virtual orientation over the next couple months.
