Welcome to Arkansas Tech Family! We are excited that you'll be joining us soon and want to make your transition as smooth as possible. Orientation for students enrolling in the spring term is a three-step process, including advising and class registration, meeting with your Orientation Leader and a virtual orientation session right before classes begin. The information on this page will help you navigate through this process, but if you have any questions along the way, we'll be here to help!
Students with less than 60 credit hours
Students with less than 60 credit hours will contact the Academic Advising Center and make an appointment to meet with an academic advisor. During your advising appointment you and your academic advisor will discuss your future career plans, review your transcripts and discuss any academic concerns you may have before scheduling your first semester classes.
You can make your appointment by calling the Academic Advising Center at (479) 964-0843 or emailing email@example.com with your full name and T-number. All appointments with the Academic Advising Center are virtual until further notice.
Students with more than 60 credit hours
Students coming in with 60 or more credit hours will be advised by a faculty advisor in their academic department. During your advising appointment your faculty advisor will discuss with you how your previous credit will be applied to your degree plan.
You can make an appointment with your faculty advisor by contacting the main office of your academic department or visiting their website.
Already registered for classes? Be sure to review the section numbers on your spring 2021 schedule so you know if your classes will meet virtual, on-campus or both!
The 2021 Orientation Leader team is excited for your arrival and can't wait to connect with you! The Orientation Leaders (OLs) are all current students who have been through this transition process and are excited to share their tips and tricks with you. You have been assigned to an OL Group based on your student status (Freshmen or Transfer) and your major.
As an ATU student, you have a free WebEx account, to use for classes and university activities. You will be added to a Spring 2021 Orientation group through your Webex account. You'll use this group to connect with other incoming students, ask questions of your orientation leader and attend your OL Smal Group session.
Be on the lookout for an introduction email from your Orientation Leader with a specific date and time for your OL Small group session.
The mandatory virtual orientation is your first opportunity to get connected with Tech students, faculty and staff, learn about exciting campus opportunities and most importantly begin to make Arkansas Tech your home away from home! Once you enroll in classes, the orientation will be added to your class schedule (1ATU-1000) and the orientation fee will automatically be added to your student account. Keep checking your ATU email, as you'll receive more information about the virtual orientation over the next month.
