Monday, November 18

International Fashion Show

12:00 p.m Doc's Place, Doc Bryan

If you enjoy fashion, you will not want to miss the International Fashion Show 2013 which will feature traditional clothing from around the world.

How to participate?

- We are looking for volunteers to dress up in their traditional national clothes and simply walk onto a stage and model your clothing. If you would like to do this, please contact Danny Eshcol: or click here to download the signup form.

International Business Fair

6:00 p.m. Monday, 3rd floor of Rothwell Building

The IMSSO will be collaborating with the student business association ENACTUS (previously SIFE) to organize a fair that exhibits common cultural practices of six different countries represented at Tech. Participants will be allowed to rotate in groups between posters in 10 minute intervals.

How to participate?

- The IMSSO Is looking for presenters who are interested in educating others about business practices in their countries. Participants will be awarded a professional certificate to recognize their participation in the fair. If you are interested contact Danny Eshcol:

Soccer Tournament

6:00 p.m. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, November 17,18,19

Intramural Fields

The IMSSO will host a soccer tournament for co-ed teams (boys & girls). The tournament is open to ALL current Tech students. Summary of rules:

  • Minimum 5, Maximum 8 players per team
  • At least one girl on the team and on the field playing at all times
  • Maximum of 3 American players per team

Tuesday, November 19

International Perspectives: "Have You Heard!"

12:30 p.m., 242 Doc Bryan

The theme of the discussion is "Have You Heard!". Join us as an international student panel discusses traditional practices and customs that are unique to their particular country or area in the world. You will have to come to find out what they are!

Bingo Competition: International Trivia

7:00 p.m., Doc's Place, Doc Bryan

Enjoy a fun night of international trivia with your friends in the style of Bingo. Sit with your friends at your own table and compete to answer all the trivia questions on the Bingo grid! There will be fun prizes for winners!


Wednesday, November 20

India Night

6:30 p.m., Young Ballroom

Come enjoy a exciting evening of Indian culture with Indian dancing, singing, interactive media and a variety of authentic Indian food!

Thursday, November 21

50 Minute Tour of Nigeria

12:30 p.m., Lecture Hall Doc Bryan

Nasirat Akinola, a graduate student from Nigeria will take you on a tour of her beautiful home country.

Friday, November 22

International Festival and Talent Expo

6:00 p.m., Lecture Hall Doc Bryan

You are invited to join Arkansas Tech University's international students for an evening of fascinating culture and talent. Events will include performances from various countries, a talent contest (judges & prizes included), music, and much more! A variety of finger food will be served.

How to participate?


- Come perform a dance, song, play a musical instrument, or any combination (4 minute limit) at a chance to win CASH!: 1st PLACE: $300, 2nd PLACE: $200, 3rd PLACE: $100

- Performances will be judged on a combination of the following criteria: (1) Audience Response, (2) Originality, (3) Overall Quality

International Photo Contest

- The theme for the photo contest is: "Home Away From Home". The theme aims to capture the experiences, memories, and feelings shared by people as it relates to one's sense of "feeling at home". The pictures do not have to be "international" they can be of people/places/events anywhere.

The contest is open to ALL current Tech students (American and International).

DEADLINE for Submission: Tuesday, November 19.

Winners will be announced during the International Festival on November 22nd
