Each week the Office of Assessment & Instititutional Effectiveness is posting a tweet on Twitter that highlights some aspect of our preparation for #HLC2020.

The tweets also serve as a weekly countdown towards our visit date:

 November 9 & 10, 2020

Arkansas Tech University is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Tech has maintained continuous accreditation since 1930 and our last reaffirmation visit occurred during the 2010-2011 academic year. Our next reaffirmation visit will occur during the 2020-2021 academic year. Please check this site often for updates on our efforts.

The involvement of our entire campus community is important for a successful comprehensive review by HLC. Please follow the links to the left to explore the HLC, its Criteria for reaffirmation, and the process that will be followed. For more information about accreditation efforts, please contact Dr. Jeff Robertson, Dean of Natural and Health Sciences and the HLC 2020-2021 Chair, at or Dr. Barbara Johnson, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Accreditation Liaison Officer at

The ATU Assurance Argument draft was available for all-campus review in two formats (Weave and PDF) from Aug. 24 - Sept. 7,  2020.

Campus constituents were able to offer feedback via the submission form below.  The suggestions received during the feedback period are now being incorporated as possible into the Assurance Argument.

Thank you!

Final Version
Assurance Argument

A final version of the Assurance Argument will be available after October 12, once the document has been finalized and submitted to the HLC system for review by visiting peer reviewers. Check back in October.

The HLC 2020 Steering Committee has created this form for you to offer comments and feedback as we continue to refine our Assurance Argument for Tech’s 2020 Reaccreditation.  Feedback is anonymous, but we would appreciate your email address so that we can follow up on your constructive suggestions.

We will do our best to incorporate your feedback into the narrative of the report so that we can fully relate the ATU story and accurately represent the mission of Arkansas Tech University to the Higher Learning Commission and the peer reviewers.
