Position Title Graduate Assistant: Strength and Conditioning Job Responsibilities for all UofO SC Graduate Assistants * Teach proper performance training techniques to student-athletes * Develop, coach, test, assess, and monitor student athletes' and team's performance * Collaborate with the athletic training department for rehabilitation and return to play * Assist in sport-specific planning and programming for team strength and conditioning sessions that includes warm-ups, main exercises/drills, cool-downs, and recovery methods * Coordinate with sport-coaches, administration, and team support personnel. * Occasional team travel may be needed at UO's expense * Minimize potential risks of injury, implement emergency action plan, and assist in spotting * Assist in the general maintenance and cleaning of the facility * Comply with NCAA, Conference, and all relevant ATU and UO rules and regulations * Work no more than twenty-eight (28) hours per week Skills and Abilities * Effective communication in verbal and written formats * Proficient with Microsoft Office * Capable of learning new technologies * Knowledge (or willingness to learn) of proper lifting technique * Active pursuit of professional development Qualifications * Bachelor�s degree from an accredited college or university in a kinesiology-related program * Admission as a Strength and Conditioning Studies student in the Arkansas Tech University Graduate College and maintain satisfactory academic progress in the graduate strength and conditioning program at ATU * Must have a nationally accredited certification: o Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) (Preferred) o Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) (Preferred) o NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM-PES) o USA Weightlifting Level 2 * A minimum of 5-month sec experience working with athletes * Current CPR/ AED certified. * Capable of lifting S0lbs overhead frequently throughout the day. * Meet all of the requirements of the ATU graduate student assistantship. * Successful completion of a background check * Preferred: Active member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association Compensation * 18 hours of tuition (out of state portion waived) per year * Stipend (based on 20 hours per week) as determined by the University of the Ozarks in conjunction with the ATU Graduate College * Room and board may be provided based on availability * This is a 10 month contract with the option for a 12 month contract to be determined by the UofO, ATU and the SCGA.
