Spencer Hurlbut is from Russellville, Arkansas and graduated from ATU in Spring 2020 with her Bachelors in Social Studies Education. While pursuing her bachelors she was a member of the Golden Girls dance team and served as captain during her senior year.

Currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in History, Spencer likes to focus on United States history and Women’s history. She plans to graduate in the Spring of 2022 and hopes to teach history in a high school or community college. She currently works as a Graduate Assistant in ATU’s Testing and Disability Services Office.

Spencer works at a local dance studio as a dance instructor and is a first generation student. She has been able to pursue her college dreams through scholarships. The environment of ATU drew her to the college, with the beautiful campus being a deciding factor.  Her time at the university has included establishing new friendships and she has found the faculty and staff capable and willing to go above and beyond the call in order to help her in the success of pursuing her degrees.
