Emergency Planning

Arkansas Tech University may be exposed to a variety of natural and human caused hazards, such as tornadoes, flooding, winter storms, fires, adversarial threats, and more.

ATU Ready

The Arkansas Tech University Office of Emergency Management works with community members throughout campus to improve and sustain readiness for these disruptions.  One element of that effort is a variety of plans; an emergency operations plan to guide the university's response; a continuity plan to help the university recover; and a mitigation plan to determine strategies for lessening the impact a hazard has on the university.

  •  Strategic Plan

The strategic plan is the foundation of emergency management activities on campus.  It covers how we plan to prepare and the steps we are taking to get there!

  •  Emergency Operations Plan

An emergency operations plan outlines how an organization or community will respond to all-hazards. This does exactly that for Arkansas Tech.  It consists of a base plan, and specific plans on how the institution plans to handle specific activities, such as mass care, evacuation, shelter in place, etc.

  •  Mitigation Plan
This Arkansas Tech University Pre-Hazard Mitigation Plan (ATUHMP) was created to safeguard the health, safety, and economic interests of Arkansas Tech University faculty, staff, and students by minimizing the risk of natural hazards. The plan provides a pathway toward continuous, proactive identification, and reduction of vulnerability to the most recurrent hazards that result in repetitive and often severe social, economic, and physical damage. This plan provides a basis for hazard mitigation activities for Arkansas Tech University.
