This 36-hour emergency management program is for working professionals or those seeking
a career in the field. Emergency management refers to the coordination between the
agencies that are responsible for responding to disasters. Additionally, those in
emergency management may work in either the public or private sector of service.
The emergency management program offers hands-on experience through analyzing case
studies, writing contingency plans and practicing coordinating disaster response through
tabletop exercises. Students in the program have the option to enroll in a practicum
that includes internships for individuals seeking on-the-job experience and a thesis-option
for students who plan to continue study in a doctoral program in the field.
