>> 10 STEPS TO GET READY FOR YOUR FIRST SEMESTER
We're glad you're here! Now that you're officially admitted to Arkansas Tech University, it's time to take the next steps to ensure a smooth (and awesome) first semester. Everything you need for a solid start at ATU is listed out below, including cashing in on our scholarships! You'll be ready to meet life's challenges head-on because we'll be focusing on your success every step of the way.
1. Activate your OneTech account
OneTech is where you will access several enrollment items throughout this process. Your Admissions Packet will have your OneTech username and T# included. You'll need those to activate your account.
2. accept your academic scholarship
If you’ve been offered an ATU Academic Scholarship, but haven’t accepted it yet, be
sure to accept it today. Use your OneTech ID and
password to accept.
3. tackle your campus housing
There are several housing steps to make sure you’re ready for the fall. Here are the steps you’ll take:
- Apply for housing and pay $25 application fee
- Sign your contract and make the prepayment
- Review your housing and meal plan options to see what works best for you
- Once you’re notified, select your room that you’re interested in
4. Start your financial aid process
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The ATU school code is 001089. The FAFSA is the single most important thing you can do to get money for college. Schedule an appointment with Financial Aid if you need assistance submitting the FAFSA.
5. Schedule your advising appointment
Two types of freshman advising appointments are available; group advising (Admitted2ATU) and individual advising. Schedule yours today!
6. start checking your email
Your ATU Email is where all formal communication from the university will be sent.
Keep up with it regularly to stay up to date
with all things ATU.
8. Send your final documents
Once you graduate from high school, send us your official final high school transcripts, ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer scores, AP scores, concurrent credit transcripts, or other college transcripts. Your high school counselor or the college or university you received previous credit from can help you with this step. You're almost ready to get started at ATU. Send your documents to admissions@atu.edu.
7. Plan to get involved on campus
Exploring groups at ATU is one of the quickest ways to make friends when you start
your first semester here. Find people who share
your interests, attend campus events, and start having the college experience you’ve
dreamed about.
9. Move In Weekend and Orientation
Orientation runs the days leading up to your first day of class. You’ll learn everything
you need to know to have a great first year
at ATU. Meet new people, make new friends, and find new clubs and organizations to
get involved with. Stay connected and informed over
the summer with ATU Ready, our online pre-orientation program. Check your ATU email
