Sandy Longhorn Reads at Tech
On Friday, April 3, 2009, to help celebrate National Poetry Month, the English Department
sponsored a public reading by Sandy Longhorn, winner of the 2005 Anhinga Prize for
Poetry. Ms. Longhorn's read from her first collection of poems, Blood Almanac, which contains poems about the experience of growing up on a farm in Iowa, and from
her new collection Galacial Elegies.

Ms. Longhorn earned her M.F.A. from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and
teaches at Pulaski Tech in North Little Rock, AR.
