COMPASS
GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Computerized-Adaptive Placement Assessment and Support System (COMPASS) is an
un-timed, computer-based examination comprised of three (3) sections that cover reading,
writing, and mathematics: It is designed for students who have been out of an education
setting for three (3) or more years and is good for admission to Arkansas Tech University.
On average, the COMPASS test takes an hour and a half to complete. For more information
you can visit the web site: www.act.org/compass/

COST:
The cost of the COMPASS is $35.00 (cash, debit or credit, no checks). Retaking of
any or all sections is $35.00. Payment is made at Student Accounts in Doc Bryan. You
can also pay by phone with debit or credit card by calling them at 479-968-0271.

in Doc Bryan, Suite 171. If you pay by phone a copy will be faxed to the Testing Center
and you will be registered.

You need to bring your photo I.D.& your receipt. You may bring your own calculator,
however we also provide them. T89 & T92 calculators are not permitted.
SCORES:
Your score will print out upon completion of the test.
The scores on the COMPASS test will not transfer to another university unless specified
by that institution. Students expecting to go to another institution or intending to transfer to another
school should take the National ACT, or complete their general education requirements
prior to transferring.
WAIT TIME BETWEEN TESTS:
A student does not need to wait to retake one or more sections of the COMPASS test.
In theory, a student could take the COMPASS twice in one day. However, even if the
student is only retaking one section of the exam, he or she will still have to pay
$35.00 to retake that section.
