Testing Services is responsible for the administration of the National tests offered at Arkansas Tech University. A registration fee and application are submitted to respective websites linked below with the exception of the ACT On Campus Testing (R-ACT), the Miller Analogies Test and the ACCUPLACER. Information regarding registration and payment is available through Testing Services. The following is a list of tests offered:
ACCUPLACER® is an integrated system of computer-adaptive assessments designed to evaluate students’ skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. Arkansas Tech University (ATU) offers the ACCUPLACER® as an opportunity to test out of a remediation class (those who have not met the ACT qualifying score) and for those who have not had a recent opportunity to sit for the National ACT exam.
Testing Services does not advise examinees regarding exam selection. Examinees should consult with their education adviser prior to registration if guidance is needed in selecting the appropriate exam(s).
Retest Policy
The test may be taken once per day with no more than three attempts within a 30 day period. It is recommended that test takers wait two weeks between test attempts in order to provide adequate time for study and review.
Exam Cost/Registration
The registration fee is $10 for individual sections, or $30 to take "all sections," which is Reading, Writing, QAS, and Arithmetic.
The exam fee remitted with debit/credit cards are paid directly to ATU through Testing Services in Doc Bryan, Suite 211. Cash payments will be accepted through the Office of Student Accounts in Brown Hall, Suite 241. Personal checks are not accepted.

The ACT is a college admissions test designed to measure a student’s readiness for college level coursework. Arkansas Tech University (ATU) accepts the ACT for admission purposes. Admission requirements, including minimum criterion for exam scores, may be viewed at https://www.atu.edu/admissions/requirements.php.
ATU will offer the ACT on the October, December, and February national test dates during the 2022-2023 academic year.

The cost of the exam is $60.00 (no writing) and $85.00 (with writing). ATU does not require for the writing portion of the exam for admission purposes.

Students are encouraged to check with their high school counselor(s) regarding prep classes that may be offered on their campus throughout the testing year.

Test takers should report to the testing location by 7:45 a.m. and must present a valid registration ticket and valid photo I.D.
Students bringing their own calculators should review the ACT math test calculator

Weather conditions may require the cancellation of a scheduled test. In the event
of poor or declining weather conditions, students should check the ACT website at www.act.org for information.

The CLEP is a credit by examination test that measures mastery of college level material. Courses for which CLEP credit may be awarded, along with the qualifying scores, may be viewed at https://www.atu.edu/catalog/undergraduate/graduation-requirements.php#CreditExamination. No more than a total of 30 semester hours of correspondence, extension, military service, or credit by examination work may be applied as credit towards a degree.
The cost of the CLEP exam is $89, paid via an online account portal at https://clep.collegeboard.org/register/.
An additional $30 fee is paid directly to ATU. The exam fee paid with debit/credit
cards are paid directly through Testing Services in Doc Bryan, Suite 211. Cash payments
will be accepted through the Office of Student Accounts in Brown Hall, Suite 241.
Personal checks are not accepted.
The CLEP exam is administered in Doc Bryan, Suite 211.

The MAT is a graduate school admissions designed to measure the examinee’s ability to recognize relationships between ideas, your fluency in the English language, and your general knowledge of the humanities, natural sciences, mathematics, and social sciences.
The test consists of 120 partial analogies that must be completed within 60 minutes.
The $80 exam fee is paid directly to Arkansas Tech University (ATU). Exam fees paid
with debit/credit cards are paid through Testing Services in Doc Bryan, Suite 211.
Cash payments will be accepted through the Office of Student Accounts in Brown Hall,
Suite 241. Personal checks are not accepted.
The test fee covers one official score report that will be provided to you upon completion
of the test and up to three official transcripts that will be sent to schools you
specify when you take the MAT.

The Praxis® tests are taken by individuals entering the teaching profession as part
of the certification process required by many states and professional licensing organizations.

The ATI TEAS® test is a multiple choice assessment measuring basic academic preparedness in reading, math, science, and English language usage.
