The purpose of PC is to assist and strengthen sororities in the achievement of their worthy purposes; to encourage superior scholarship and academic excellence; to provide a medium for exercising self-government and the regulation of sorority affairs; to advance the quality and standing of sorority life on campus; to act as a liaison between sororities and the University administration; to strive for effective communication and cooperation among sororities in a forum of common interest and activity; and to foster fellowship and good will among the sororities and the student body.

Membership is limited to representative from the member organizations of the Council.
