Parade Entry Form

This form is to be completed by Community Entries only.  All RSOs and Residence Halls should register their floats on theLink.  

Instructions

Community businesses, churches, and organizations are welcome to participate in Arkansas Tech University's Homecoming parade.  The parade will be held on Arkansas Tech's campus on Friday, October 26, 2013 at 7:30 pm.  You are encouraged to decorate a float or a vehicle or enter a walking unit using the parade theme "Tame the Tigers." 

Notice: You will not be allowed to throw anything from the floats! Walkers can handout items, but nothing can be thrown!

The organizer of the parade entry must fill out an entry form by October 1, 2013 at 5 pm. All forms must be submitted before an entry will be accepted in the parade.

ENTRY GUIDELINES

PARADE ROUTE

The parade will begin at 7:30 p.m. The parade route will be as follows: units will line up in Witherspoon parking lot K. Units will start the parade by turning left on West Q Street. Turn right onto North Boulder Avenue and veering left by Doc Bryan. Turn right on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Make the turn by Nutt Hall where judges will be stationed. Continue down North El Paso Avenue and turn right on West M Street. Turn right on North Glenwood. Turn right again onto West Q Street to finish parade.

COMMERCIAL & PERSONAL ENTRIES

All commercial and personal entries will assemble in the staging area at 5:30 pm. All entries must be decorated. ANY VEHICLE NOT DECORATED WITH THE HOMECOMING THEME WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE.

MARCHERS

Park outside the parade staging area (Witherspoon parking lot) and walk your child/children to the designated area for your group. Please pin the name of the group on your child’s/children’s clothing. At least one adult must remain with each group of marchers throughout the parade and in the staging area. Absolutely no parking will be allowed in the parade staging area .

BANDS

Assemble on parking lot B on North El Paso Street in front of Witherspoon no later than 6:00 pm.

I waive, release and hold harmless Arkansas Tech University and their employees, volunteers, and agents from all legal and financial responsibility and from all costs, injuries and/or other damages to myself (including, but not limited to, cost of medical treatment, permanent injury or death, and property damage) from this decision.
