Creating a New Registered Student Organization

We are glad you are interested in creating a new RSO! The set up is fairly simple.   Sign in to theLINK. At the top of the home page it says "Want to create a page for your group?..." Follow the instructions there.

In order to complete the registration process there are some forms and documents necessary:

- Faculty/Staff Advisor Agreement -

This form, to be completed by the Faculty/Staff Advisor(s) each year, is completed entirely online here.

- Agency Account Approval -

Each year RSO leadership must determine who will have access to the RSO's on-campus bank account. This document can be downloaded here. Once completed it must be submitted either a) electronically uploaded during theLINK registration process, or b) physically brought to Office of Student Services, Doc Bryan Suite 233.  **Note:  Agency Account number is assigned when the Approval form is received.  

- Constitution -

The registration process requires the RSO's constitution to be uploaded. Here is a Sample Constitution. The non-discriminatory clause is required in each constitution:

"Arkansas Tech University prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, or veteran status."

- Annual Student Organization Meetings -

Prior to approval, Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) must have the appropriate individual(s) view videos in place of the annual organization meetings that are held each fall:

Your RSO must have at least one representative watch this video (typically the president).


Faculty/Staff Advisor Training

The primary Faculty/staff advisors' viewing is required in order for your RSO registration to be approved
Secondary advisors are welcome to view the training as well.


Anti-Hazing Training

Any and all students holding a leadership position within your RSO are required to watch this video.
To watch the video(s) log in to BlackBoard and click on "Courses" at the top. On the left is a "Course Search" box. Type in "Office of Student Life," click the arrow, and then "enroll." Inside the 'course' there is a tab on the left titled "Videos." Each video is available there. We will be able to see when a specific user has accessed the videos, but you also need to e-mail studentlife@atu.edu when you have completed the video, explaining what group you represent and which video(s) you watched.

 

After the registration information is received via theLink, the group will be contacted to set up an appointment with the Office of Student Life in order to communicate the policies and procedures to operate as a Registered Student Organization.
