Frequently Asked Questions

How are hall assignments made?
Hall assignments are based on the date your housing file is complete with our office. A complete housing file includes an "Application for Room Reservation", paid $25 application fee, a signed housing contract and roommate questionnaire, and the $50.00 pre-payment.

If I have someone I want to room with, do I need to still fill out the roommate questionnaire?
Yes, this information is helpful in wing and floor placement as well.

If I am requesting a particular roommate, will we automatically get assigned together?
Every attempt is made to fulfill roommate requests, however it is important that both roommates request each other and that both have dates that are close together for completing their housing file.

Can I request suite mates and specific floors?
Unfortunately given our size and the computer system we currently use for housing assignments, we are not able to accommodate these specific requests.

How does the Pre-Payment work?
The $50.00 pre-payment will be applied directly to your account for the fall semester.

I'm on a scholarship that pays for my housing, do I still have to pay the pre-payment?
Yes, all new students pay the $50.00 pre-payment. Should your financial aid or scholarship (athletic or academic) completely cover your room and board, the $50.00 will be refunded in the fall.

When will I get my housing assignment?
Housing assignments are traditionally mailed out on June 15th for Fall semester and in January for Spring semester.

Can I change my hall or roommate request?
Requests can be changed up until 5:00 p.m. on May 29th. After that time we are not able to accommodate changes. All requests must be made in writing to our office.
