RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (April 24, 2008)--Members of the Arkansas Tech University Opera Workshop will enact scenes from “The Elixir of Love” during a performance at Witherspoon Auditorium on Friday, April 25.
The performance, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Arkansas Tech Opera Workshop is directed by Dr. Jon F. Clements and accompanied by Brian Conatser.
“By doing all of our scenes from one opera, both the students in the class and the audience get a chance to become familiar with a masterwork in a workshop setting,” said Clements.
Members of the class include Christopher Cross, Brandon Faciane, Keely Futterer, Emily Guadagnini, Larissa Gudino, Ellyn Marsh, Kristen Martin, Tim Morris, Melissa Pate, Jonathan Ray, Naomi Shure, Ashley Starr, Paul Swearingen, Sean Sweeden and Jessica Young.
“The Elixir of Love” was written by 19th Century Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti.
