RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (February 1, 2008)---Applications for the 53rd annual Miss Tech scholarship pageant are due on Friday, Feb. 8.
The winner of the pageant will receive a two-semester tuition scholarship at Arkansas Tech and more than $2,000 in gift certificates from area businesses.
The 2008 Miss Tech Pageant will be on Friday, Feb. 22, at Witherspoon Auditorium on the Arkansas Tech campus in Russellville.
The pageant is an official preliminary to the 2009 Miss America pageant, and the winner will compete in the 2008 Miss Arkansas pageant. Contestants must be full time female Tech students between the ages of 18 and 24.
Dr. Jim Collins, Miss Tech executive director, encourages all eligible students to enter.
“The Miss America organization is the biggest provider of scholarships to women in the world,” said Collins. “This is a great opportunity for students at Tech to earn scholarships for their education.”
