Safe Spring Break to host ‘Club Tech’
Arkansas Tech University will continue its Safe Spring Break series by hosting ‘Club Tech’ at the Young Ballroom on Wednesday, March 5, from 9 p.m.-midnight.
There will be dancing, socializing, refreshments and Safe Spring Break giveaways and prizes. The event is hosted by the Residence Hall Association, the Student Government Association, the Student Activities Board, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, the Health and Wellness Center and the Counseling Center.
Up ‘til Dawn Finale on Friday night
The year-long Up ‘til Dawn campaign, which supports the fight against cancer, will draw to a conclusion with a final celebration at Tucker Coliseum on Friday, March 7, from 7 p.m.-2 a.m.
The event, which is free with a valid Tech identification card, will include free food, karaoke, inflatable boxing, a Velcro wall, hoops challenge, inflatable jousting, an inflatable obstacle course, a bungee run, aqua massage, airbrush tattoo, hula hoop contest and personalized license plates.
There will also be live music and entertainment, including a performance by Cheryl Staten, Miss Tech 2008.

Principles of Collegiate Success class begins next week
Students needing a 3-hour course to maintain academic eligibility and those simply wanting to improve their study skills can enroll in Principles of Collegiate Success (CSP 1013), a course offered by the Arkansas Tech College Student Personnel program.
One section of CSP 1013 will be offered on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6-9 p.m. and will begin on Monday, March 10. The other section will meet on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-9 p.m. and will begin on Tuesday, March 11.

Norman Hall Galley presents works of David Mudrinich
“David Mudrinich: Images from the Tallgrass Prairie” will be the featured presentation in the Norman Hall Gallery from March 3-31.
The opening reception is on Thursday, March 6, from 3-4 p.m. Refreshments will be served and the artist will be there to answer questions and give a brief gallery talk. Admission is free.

Student Activities Board to host Big Money Bingo
One of the most popular student activities of each academic year will return to the Arkansas Tech University campus on Tuesday, March 11, when the Student Activities Board presents Big Money Bingo beginning at 9 p.m. in the Young Building Ballroom.
Last year’s prizes included a laptop computer, airline travel voucher, Nintendo Wii video game system, digital camera, Apple iPod and much more.

Arkansas Tech basketball teams go to GSC Tournament
Arkansas Tech University will send both its men’s and women’s basketball teams to the Gulf South Conference Tournament this week at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, Miss.
The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys (17-10 overall, 8-6 GSC), the No. 5 seed from the GSC West Division, will take on the University of Alabama-Huntsville Chargers (13-14, 6-6), the No. 4 seed from the GSC East Division, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the first round of the tournament.
If the Wonder Boys win, they will face Harding (16-11, 10-4), the No. 1 seed from the GSC West, at 12:30 p.m. Friday in the men’s quarterfinals.
The nationally-ranked Arkansas Tech Golden Suns (23-4, 12-2) are the No. 2 seed from the GSC West in the women’s tournament, and they will receive a first-round bye. Tech will face West Alabama (13-14, 8-4) in the women’s quarterfinal round at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
If the Golden Suns beat UWA, they will advance to the GSC Tournament semifinals at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
