RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (April 17, 2008)--The Arkansas Tech University Board of Trustees gave its approval for nine new full-time staff positions and 10 new graduate assistant positions during its regular monthly meeting at the Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center on Thursday.
The new positions will help the university address staffing short falls in the areas of institutional research, academic advising, concurrent credit, outreach and finance. The positions were made possible by Act 618 of the 2007 Arkansas General Assembly, which established a growth pool for institutions of higher learning for the 2007-09 biennium.
Final approval of the positions must be granted through the Arkansas Legislative Council.
In other business on Thursday, the Board of Trustees approved a new mission statement for the Arkansas Tech Division of Intercollegiate Athletics.
The next meeting of the Arkansas Tech Board of Trustees is scheduled for Thursday, May 15.
