What is web time entry?

Web time entry is a process that uses Employee Self Service Banner and the One Tech portal to submit, approve, and forward employee timesheets to the payroll office through the web.

 
How do I (as an employee) submit my timesheet through web time entry?
  1. Log on to One Tech
  2. Go to Staff Tab
  3. Navigate to Time Reporting Channel
  4. Click on the link with "Due Date". This will open your timesheet. (Please note: You will not be able to submit timesheet after 11:59 pm on the due date shown)

  5. Navigate to date worked and click "Enter Hours".

  6. Enter number of hours worked in the box to the right of the hours field and click save.

  7. Proceed to other dates by clicking the "Next" button; continue entering hours for the entire pay period.
  8. When finished check "total hours" to confirm the total for the entire pay period.

  9. After total hours are confirmed, submit your time sheet by clicking "submit for approval" button (This sends your timesheet to your supervisor for approval)


How do I (as a supervisor) approve timesheets and forward them to payroll?
  1. Log on to One Tech
  2. Go to Staff Tab
  3. Navigate to the Time Approval Channel
  4. Click on the link with "Period Ending". This will bring you to a list of all your employees. The employees showing a transaction status of "Pending" and a required action of "Approve" are ready for your review.

  5. Click on the name of the employee you are ready to review.
  6. This will bring you to the employee's timesheet. Scroll horizontally to see entire timesheet.
  7. Review time sheet for correctness, and proceed to either:
    • "Approve" (this will forward the timesheet to the payroll office with your authorization to pay) Payroll does not see the timesheet until you approve.

    • "Return for Correction" (this will send the timesheet back to the employee for correction)

When do I (as an employee) have to submit my timesheet for approval?

Student workers should submit their timesheets to supervisors no later than 11:59 p.m. on the second working day following the pay period. Your timesheet will no longer be available for editing after this time.

When do I (as a supervisor) have to submit approved timesheets?

Supervisors should approve employee's timesheets and forward to the payroll office no later than 11:59 p.m. on the fourth working day following the pay period.
