A cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale. Only the required courses are included in the GPA calculation for admission to RN to BSN program.
Have graduated from an associate degree or diploma program that was NLNAC (National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Address: 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 500, Atlanta, GA 30326, Phone: (404) 975-5000, Web site: www.nlnac.org)accredited or Arkansas State Board of Nursing approved at the time of graduation.
Confirmation letter from employer documenting work experience if > 12 months after graduation.
Licensed registered nurses who have met all of the lower division nursing curriculum requirements and graduated from an associated degree or diploma program that was NLN accredited at the time of graduation may receive credit for 34 hours of nursing courses if they meet specific requirements.
Admission to the RN-BSN courses is competitive and subject to evaluation by the Nursing Department's Admission and Progression Committee. The Admission and Progression Committee reviews the applicant's record and makes recommendations regarding the student's admission into the Nursing Program.
The RN-BSN applications are ranked according to the following admission criteria:
SPRING Entry: Deadline - October 1st
Category 1: All prerequisite courses completed by the end of the Fall semester, GPA ≥ 2.75.
Category 2: All but up to 6 hours of pre-requisite courses are completed by the end of the Fall semester, ≥ GPA 2.75.
SUMMER Entry: Deadline - March 1st
Category 1: All prerequisite courses completed by the end of the Summer II semester, GPA ≥ 2.75.
Category 2: All but up to 6 hours of pre-requisite courses are completed by the end of the Summer II semester, ≥ GPA 2.75.

The General Education courses (listed above) must be completed. Students should work close with their advisors to determine the selection of courses.

Apply for admission to ATU when near completion of prerequisites either online at www.atu.edu or obtain paper application from the Admission Office. Schedule an appointment (face-to-face or phone) to discuss academic record and remaining prerequisite requirements, if any.
Apply to program by contacting the Department of Nursing to request an application to Upper Division.
